Mobs formed to protect drug dealers and impede officers from doing their duties: Is this going to be a ‘new normal?’ Goes without saying some policing reforms are needed, but the anti-cop rhetoric is getting out of control. Not all or even a majority of police officers are Derek Chauvin; and if anyone thinks ordinary citizens would do a better job of policing themselves and their communities than the authorities do, they are pathetically naive and tragically mistaken. That would be called ‘anarchy,’ and it’d be hell on earth. As if this country isn’t violent and morally degraded enough. We can’t get half of these people to wear a mask during a pandemic or even to live in reality. If, say, 20 to 30% of cops are bad seeds - and that may be too high of an estimate, but maybe not - then at least double those numbers of our fellow citizens are worse. I will take my chances trusting a police officer over all these malevolent fools polluting society, which is a far greater percentage of Americans than most care to admit.
